Technical Specialist Role

This entry-level engineering role requires the ability to independently apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to solve complex power system problems using professional judgment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Protection Settings & Analysis: Design and manage protective device settings across multiple manufacturer platforms.
  • System Studies & Modeling: Conduct short-circuit analyses, coordination studies, arc flash assessments, and fault investigations using industry-standard simulation software.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Develop and review verification reports to ensure alignment with standard regional grid reliability and protection mandates.
  • Project Support & Design: Apply engineering standards to design ground grids, size transformers, perform load flow studies, and support system lighting and relaying tasks.
  • Coordination & Communication: Collaborate with project engineers and clients to maintain project schedules, manage document control systems, and occasionally visit field sites.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: No prior experience required.
  • Technical Knowledge: A strong foundation in power system analysis and protection principles.
  • Key Skills: Exceptional organization, strong computer proficiency, high attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 10%.
