Compliance Officer

Role Overview

Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive compliance program within a financial services environment. This role focuses on ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, evaluating operational processes, and supporting internal teams with compliance guidance and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure policies, procedures, and operational practices comply with applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and assess their impact on internal processes.
  • Conduct fair lending and regulatory compliance reviews across departments.
  • Manage regulatory reporting processes and ensure accuracy of submitted data.
  • Deliver compliance training to employees, management, and leadership teams.
  • Perform periodic compliance monitoring of deposit and lending activities.
  • Provide guidance and day-to-day support on regulatory compliance matters.
  • Support regulatory audits, examinations, and internal reviews.
  • Escalate and report suspicious or unusual activities when required.

Regulatory Knowledge

Working knowledge of key financial regulations, including but not limited to:

  • Fair Lending and consumer protection regulations

  • Disclosure and lending regulations

  • Privacy and credit reporting regulations

  • Electronic funds transfer and deposit regulations

  • Community reinvestment and related compliance standards

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to interpret regulations and apply them to operational processes

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

  • Effective collaboration and stakeholder support

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field

  • Minimum 3 years of compliance experience within financial services

  • Professional compliance certification (preferred)
