Cost Accountant

We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will draw on experience to make financial decisions based on collecting and analyzing cost accounting data. Salary: $75k-$90k

Responsibilities:

• Analyze cost structures and pricing strategies to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved profitability.
• Prepare standard cost reports and product cost analyses.
• Monitor inventory levels and assess cost variances.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Record journal entries and ensure proper allocation of direct labor, overhead and manufacturing-related costs.
• Support internal audits and maintain compliance with financial regulations and policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar role.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics, Jet Reports, Excel).
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Excellent analytical thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for presenting financial data to stakeholders.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• Strong mathematical and statistical aptitude.
• Experience working with large datasets and performing in-depth financial analysis.
