A well-established emergency and specialty veterinary hospital in Doral, Florida is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian (ER DVM) to join its collaborative emergency care team. Role Overview
The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and stabilizing emergency and critical care patients in a fast-paced, 24/7 hospital setting. You will work alongside an experienced team with access to advanced diagnostic tools and surgical support.
The schedule consists of approximately 12 shifts per month, allowing for flexibility while maintaining consistent clinical exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat, and stabilize emergency and trauma cases
- Perform emergency and urgent surgical procedures as needed
- Manage acute medical conditions and critical care patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary veterinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records
- Provide mentorship and guidance to veterinary technicians and junior team members
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida
- 1–2 years of emergency medicine experience preferred
- Mentorship available for strong general practice veterinarians seeking to transition into emergency medicine
- Strong diagnostic and surgical skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
- Compassionate and professional client communication skills
