Hybrid in East Brunswick, NJ (3 days weekly in office)
Our client seeks a skilled Project Architect with a strong portfolio in industrial and advanced manufacturing design. This role involves leading the planning and design of greenfield and brownfield projects, including cutting-edge manufacturing facilities for flavors, fragrances, and cosmetics, as well as analytical laboratories.
The ideal candidate will translate complex processes and regulatory requirements into efficient, future-ready facilities, guiding projects from feasibility studies through Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), and Construction Documentation (CD).
Key Responsibilities
Test Fit & Feasibility Studies:**
- - Create block plans and utility assessments to evaluate site suitability.
- - Assess building massing and code constraints for decision-making.
**Schematic Design (SD):**- Develop Revit-based floor plans, elevations, and 3D views that include process flows and MEP envelopes.- Conduct workshops with clients and stakeholders to align design intent.
**Design Development (DD):**- Work closely with engineers to finalize scope, materials, and details.
**Planning & Compliance:**- Apply zoning and building codes for project compliance.- Prepare documentation for AHJ, EPA, and OSHA approvals.
**Project Leadership & Collaboration:**- Mentor junior staff and coordinate with consultants.- Assist in business development with proposals and schedules.
Qualifications
Between 8 to 10 years of experience in the design of industrial or advanced manufacturing facilities needed.
- - A solid history of delivering comprehensive design packages, from initial feasibility assessments to construction documents (CDs).
- - High-level expertise in using Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- - Good understanding of the International Building Code (IBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
- - Familiar with American Institute of Architects (AIA) contract documents and various methods of project delivery, such as Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Design-Build (DB), and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM).
- - Strong skills in communication, leadership, and team collaboration.
- - Detail-focused with excellent capabilities in problem-solving.
