Senior Associate Litigation Attorney - Insurance Defense

Work Location: Hybrid - Remote Miami, Florida

Our client's law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney specializing in Personal Injury Defense within the federal court system, particularly the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of legal practice, with 1-2 years in federal court.

Responsibilities

Litigation Management

  • Manage personal injury defense cases in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida, overseeing all aspects from case analysis to trial preparation.
  • Legal Research and Analysis:**  
  • Conduct legal research on federal laws and precedents to support case strategies and provide timely advice to clients.
  • Client Interaction:**  
  • Maintain effective communication with clients regarding case developments and collaborate to gather necessary information for preparation.
  • Court Appearances:**  
  • Represent clients in federal court, preparing and filing necessary legal documents for hearings and trials.
  • Negotiation and Settlement:**  
  • Engage in settlement negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes while adhering to ethical standards.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork:**  
  • Work with attorneys and legal staff to execute strategies and provide comprehensive client services, while mentoring junior associates and supporting their development.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Florida State Bar and admission to practice in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of overall legal practice with a strong focus on litigation.
  • 1-2 years of specific experience practicing in federal court, preferably focusing on personal injury defense.
  • Proven success in managing and litigating federal cases, including trials and hearings.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
