Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced MRO Buyer to manage the sourcing, purchasing, and supply of MRO materials, consumables, equipment, and production components. This role is responsible for maintaining material availability, optimizing inventory, managing supplier relationships, and supporting efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase MRO materials, consumables, equipment, and production supplies.
- Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and obtain competitive supplier quotations.
- Analyze material costs, lead times, and availability to meet production needs.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and operations teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
- Monitor inventory levels while reducing excess and obsolete stock.
- Procure materials for urgent and expedited orders.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and supplier agreements.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
- Manage purchase orders, quotations, and procurement documentation.
- Reduce material shortages, overdue purchase orders, excess inventory, and purchase price variance (PPV).
- Support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and part data within the ERP system.
- Prepare procurement reports and ensure compliance with procurement procedures.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience sourcing MRO materials, consumables, and production components.
- Strong knowledge of MRP systems, JIT replenishment, Blanket Orders, and Kanban.
- Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and inventory management.
- Proven supplier negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in electronics, industrial manufacturing, technology, or similar industries.
- Knowledge of ISO quality standards and quality management systems.
- Experience with supplier development and cost reduction initiatives.
Technical Skills
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience using supplier portals and online sourcing tools.
