Hospice Program Director

A leadership role responsible for overseeing hospice operations, driving program growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality patient care. This position manages daily operations while building strong external relationships and maintaining financial and service excellence.

Role Summary

Lead and manage all aspects of hospice program operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, policies, and regulatory standards. Oversee local office functions, support staff performance, and ensure compassionate, patient-centered care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day hospice operations and administrative functions
  • Team Development: Recruit, train, and evaluate staff to ensure high performance
  • Relationship Management: Build partnerships with physicians, hospitals, and care facilities
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and implement corrective actions
  • Program Growth: Support expansion through community engagement and strategic initiatives
  • Policy Execution: Implement approved procedures and organizational standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, nursing, or business (preferred)
  • 2+ years of healthcare management experience (hospice/home health preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of hospice experience required
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations
  • Experience in operations and/or sales leadership
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Skilled in process improvement, change management, and prioritization in fast-paced environments
