Development Scientist – Analytical Method Development & Validation

Location: Gulfport, MS (onsite; relocation assistance available)
Compensation: $70,000 to $90,000 

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Development Scientist to lead analytical method development and validation in a GMP-regulated laboratory. This role suits an analytical scientist or chemist who enjoys lab work, solving technical problems, and owning validation projects from protocol design through final report.

We're prioritizing candidates with genuine industry experience over academic or theoretical knowledge of analytical validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot analytical methods
  • Design and execute method development and validation studies
  • Write, review, and execute validation protocols
  • Analyze validation data and assess it against acceptance criteria
  • Prepare and review validation reports and technical documentation
  • Investigate unexpected results and support deviations and CAPAs as needed
  • Support method transfers and ongoing process improvement
  • Collaborate with QC, Quality, and other technical teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation according to GMP standards

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of hands-on analytical lab experience (pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or another GMP-regulated setting preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in method development and validation
  • Experience writing or contributing substantially to validation protocols and reports
  • Hands-on execution of validation studies with data analysis
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Note: Candidates should be prepared to speak to specific, hands-on examples, such as a method they developed, a validation study they personally ran, a protocol they wrote, and a problem they diagnosed and resolved.

Education

A degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field is a plus, but it is not required. Certifications are not required either. Relevant hands-on experience takes priority.
