Position Overview

A manufacturing organization is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in launching a new production cell focused on the manufacturing of precision-formed and machined components, including fasteners and bearing balls.

Required experience: candidates must have fastener or ball bearing production experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed manufacturing process plans
  • Define capital equipment requirements and evaluate vendor proposals
  • Establish buyoff criteria for equipment and systems
  • Design safe, lean, and efficient plant layouts
  • Execute acceptance test plans at vendor facilities and on-site
  • Lead installation and commissioning of capital equipment
  • Perform hands-on process development, NC programming, tool design, and inspection activities
  • Implement preventive maintenance strategies
  • Establish procedures for the proper setup and operation of machines, tools, and equipment
  • Manage projects through the PPAP process into serial production
  • Ensure compliance with factory systems such as OQR, SPC, and FDC
  • Collaborate with project and plant leadership to maintain timelines and budgets
  • Perform additional technical, operational, and administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience
  • Experience with process planning, process development, CNC programming, or tool design preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong CAD skills preferred (UG NX experience is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical components and engineering principles
  • Highly organized and motivated, with the ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Project management experience is beneficial
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
  • U.S. citizenship required
