Position Overview
A private household is seeking an Assistant Estate Manager to support the Estate Manager in overseeing daily operations, staff, and household activities. This role covers both personal and property-related responsibilities for the family. The position offers full benefits, PTO, and competitive compensation.
Responsibilities
- Manage calendar scheduling for household activities, appointments, and events
Oversee household and storage inventory
Support household and family safety/security protocols
Coordinate household purchases, furnishings, and accessories
Assist in managing and supporting household staff
Help plan and organize social and holiday events
- Coordinate pet care scheduling, including health check-ups, vaccinations, and grooming
- Follow and maintain daily checklists and procedures for staff and activities
- Typical schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, with occasional event coverage (~1x/month)
Qualifications
- Previous experience in private estate management, house management, or hospitality
Ability to commit to the role for at least two years
- Strong responsiveness: must be able to reply to principal emails within one hour during evenings/weekends (unless at an event or asleep)
- Flexibility to take up to 50% of vacation time between July 2 and August 8
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Bachelors degree preferred (candidates with equivalent experience will be considered)
- Candidates with formal degrees will be prioritized, though extensive private household management experience is also valued
