Overview

Responsible for performing advanced credit analysis for commercial and real estate lending. Evaluates financial data, assesses risk, and prepares detailed credit recommendations while supporting the lending and credit approval process. Also serves as a resource for junior analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and other financial data to evaluate borrower creditworthiness.
  • Conduct ratio, trend, collateral, and industry analysis to assess financial performance and risk.
  • Prepare cash flow analyses based on personal and business financial information.
  • Develop pro forma financial models to assess the ability to repay current and proposed debt.
  • Review property appraisals and environmental reports related to loan requests.
  • Prepare detailed written credit analyses and recommendations for loan approval or denial.
  • Support the credit approval process by preparing authorization documents and maintaining approval records.
  • Assist with credit committee documentation and related reporting.
  • Utilize financial analysis and stress-testing tools as required.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior analysts and assist with special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Formal commercial credit training or equivalent coursework preferred.
  • 5–8 years of banking or credit experience, including at least 3 years in commercial credit analysis.
  • Knowledge of lending practices, credit risk assessment, and financial regulations.
  • Experience using financial analysis tools and credit analysis software.
