Veterinary Surgeon – Locum Contract (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Assignment Overview

This is a temporary locum opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to provide small animal surgery coverage during a maternity leave. The anticipated assignment runs from January 2026 through May 2026.

Clinical Setting

• Modern, recently renovated specialty facility with continued expansion planned, including increased treatment space, additional operating rooms, expanded exam capacity, dedicated CT capabilities, and upgraded in-house laboratory services.
• Collaborative, multi-specialty environment with access to surgery, cardiology, internal medicine, oncology, integrative medicine, rehabilitation, behavior, and theriogenology.

• Strong clinical and support teams focused on high-quality patient care.

• No after-hours or on-call responsibilities.

• On-campus access to 24/7 inpatient and emergency services through a partner facility.

Candidate Profile

• DACVS, residency-trained surgeon with a practice limited to small animal surgery, or a highly experienced surgeon comfortable managing routine and advanced soft tissue cases.

• Active New York veterinary license or license eligibility.

• Team-oriented mindset with interest in collaborative specialty medicine.
