Role Overview

Leads daily manufacturing operations with a strong hands-on approach, ensuring safe, efficient production aligned with quality, output, and schedule goals. This role requires active floor presence, real-time problem-solving, and direct leadership of supervisors.

Core Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

  • Oversee daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and productivity targets
  • Maintain consistent visibility on the production floor
  • Monitor line performance, staffing, workflow, and downtime
  • Address issues immediately through direct engagement

Team Leadership & Development

  • Coach, guide, and hold supervisors accountable for performance
  • Communicate priorities and expectations clearly in person
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of production staff
  • Handle performance management and employee concerns

Performance & Compliance

  • Enforce safety standards and promote safe work practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve process and quality issues
  • Track key metrics such as output, scrap, downtime, and labor utilization
  • Drive corrective actions and continuous improvements

Planning & Coordination

  • Align staffing and workflow with production needs
  • Evaluate labor, capacity, and operational requirements
  • Support budgeting and resource planning
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and workflow
  • Enhance production consistency and reduce waste
  • Promote accountability, ownership, and strong execution

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred
  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in an extrusion environment
  • Equivalent experience may be considered
