Role Overview
Leads daily manufacturing operations with a strong hands-on approach, ensuring safe, efficient production aligned with quality, output, and schedule goals. This role requires active floor presence, real-time problem-solving, and direct leadership of supervisors.
Core Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Oversee daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and productivity targets
- Maintain consistent visibility on the production floor
- Monitor line performance, staffing, workflow, and downtime
- Address issues immediately through direct engagement
Team Leadership & Development
- Coach, guide, and hold supervisors accountable for performance
- Communicate priorities and expectations clearly in person
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of production staff
- Handle performance management and employee concerns
Performance & Compliance
- Enforce safety standards and promote safe work practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve process and quality issues
- Track key metrics such as output, scrap, downtime, and labor utilization
- Drive corrective actions and continuous improvements
Planning & Coordination
- Align staffing and workflow with production needs
- Evaluate labor, capacity, and operational requirements
- Support budgeting and resource planning
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and workflow
- Enhance production consistency and reduce waste
- Promote accountability, ownership, and strong execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred
- 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in an extrusion environment
- Equivalent experience may be considered
