Project Controls Analyst – Primavera P6 Scheduling (Contract)
Tulsa, Oklahoma | On-site | Full-Time | Contract (W2) | 6 Months | Senior Level
MaxIT Consulting – Max Corporate Group is seeking an experienced Project Controls Analyst with strong Primavera P6 scheduling skills to support capital projects for an energy company in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
You will own the project schedules for pipeline and facility construction projects: building and baselining them in Primavera P6, keeping them updated, analyzing the critical path and reporting schedule status and risks to the project team.
THE CHALLENGE
Large pipeline and facility projects move through permitting, land, survey and construction phases, with many contractors and dependencies. The project team needs a scheduler who can turn the scope and the WBS into a clear, reliable schedule that anyone can read: what is being installed, when, and what drives the completion date.
During construction the pace increases and updates can become weekly, so the role combines hands-on schedule maintenance with sharp analysis of delays, workarounds and recovery plans.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the creation and approval of baseline schedules with the project team, and manage baselines at each project gate.
- Develop, maintain and update Primavera P6 schedules for capital projects, using the standard template and WBS.
- Run monthly (and, during construction, weekly) progress updates, revise forecasts and evaluate the impact of delays.
- Identify and manage the critical path (CPM), and work with the project team on workarounds and mitigation plans.
- Plan the sequence of all project phases, including permitting, land acquisition, survey and construction.
- Review contractor baseline schedules and progress updates for compliance with project controls requirements.
- Produce and publish schedule reports: critical path, 2–4 week lookahead, milestone and schedule variance reports.
- Communicate schedule status and key risk areas to the project management team.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years of project scheduling and planning experience.
- Hands-on Primavera P6 experience developing, maintaining, updating and baselining project schedules.
- Strong command of Critical Path Method (CPM), schedule impact analysis and recovery planning.
- Solid understanding of WBS, project scope and the corresponding cost estimates.
- Experience with baseline management, progress updates, forecasting and schedule variance reporting.
- Experience reviewing contractor schedules and progress submittals.
- Knowledge of construction-phase scheduling: permitting, land, survey and construction sequencing.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction or business, or equivalent experience.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience on oil and gas pipeline and facility construction projects.
- Experience in midstream energy infrastructure, or pipeline installation, expansion or replacement projects.
- Background in capital projects for engineering and construction organizations.
