Overview:
As the Engraving Excellence Centre Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of our engraving Centre, ensuring it runs efficiently and productively. This role is critical in maintaining the highest quality standards, creating a positive working environment, and representing Timpson's values. You'll oversee, the production of store and online orders, quality control, colleague training, product displays, cost management, and the continuous improvement of operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Excellence:
- Manage and oversee all engraving Centre operations, ensuring efficient and productive workflows, with a hands-on approach as and when needed.
- Implement and uphold quality control systems to deliver consistently high-quality products.
- Monitor costs, labour, and resources to maximise productivity and maintain commercial viability.
- Ensure service times are met and align with the expectations set by the Retail and Online Directors.
2. Quality Assurance:
- Create and maintain gold-standard displays of products to set a benchmark for excellence.
- Regularly review and refine production processes to enhance product quality.
- Ensure that quality expectations align with excellence centre standards.
3. Training & Development:
- Help design and implement thorough training programs for new and existing colleagues.
- Promote a supportive environment where colleagues can develop their skills and progress in their careers.
- Help create a multi-skilled team, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development through structured training sessions.
4. Team Leadership:
- Create a collaborative and positive team culture aligned with Timpson values.
- Actively engage colleagues in goal setting, idea sharing, and problem-solving.
- Recognise and reward excellence to promote a high performing culture.
5. Commercial Management:
- Analyse management accounts and track performance, making data-driven decisions to improve operations.
- Review supplier costs, ensuring cost-effective use of materials, time, and resources.
- Identify opportunities for growth and innovation in products and services.

- Lead by example, promoting Timpson's core values, and commitment to delivering a quality service to stores and customers.
- Ensure a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for all colleagues and visitors.

Requirements:
- Proven experience in a management or supervisory role within a production or operations environment, ideally in engraving or a similar field.
- Strong understanding of quality control systems and cost management.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a focus on team development and culture building.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to upholding Timpson values.
