The Grant Manager oversees the entire grant cycle, including identification, writing, implementation, and compliance. This role collaborates with the leadership team to align funding priorities with organizational needs, engaging internal stakeholders throughout the grant application and compliance process.
The Grant Manager is responsible for maintaining a robust grant pipeline, stewarding relationships with funders including foundations, federal, state, and private agencies and managing the acquisition and fulfillment of grant commitments. Working closely with the Executive Director, this position identifies funding opportunities, develops strategic priorities, and ensures compliance with grant requirements.
In collaboration with the finance team, the Grant Manager oversees grant budgeting and financial reporting. They will research, define, and secure funding sources to support current and planned programs, lead the development and submission of grant proposals, and monitor compliance across all funding types.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and research new funding opportunities from government, corporate, foundation, and private sources aligned with ICD priorities.
- Develop and submit high-quality grant proposals, narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation in accordance with ICD policies and funding agency requirements.
- Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar, tracking submission deadlines, reporting schedules, and compliance requirements.
- Lead the grant procurement and implementation process through stakeholder meetings and quarterly compliance reviews, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with Finance to create and manage expenditure and income budgets for grant proposals.
- Act as the primary liaison with funding agencies, ensuring timely communication and relationship stewardship.
- Monitor grant regulations, policies, and updates to maintain compliance and address emerging requirements.
- Maintain organized grant records, including applications, reports, and compliance documentation for all funding sources.
- Regularly meet with internal teams to identify funding needs, support program sustainability, and align with strategic goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organizations funding objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or have related experience
- 1-3 years of experience in grant writing, preferably in a non-profit setting
- Proven track record in grant writing
- Experience working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in research and analyzing diverse data
- Possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals
