Role Overview

We are seeking a Marketing & Brand Manager to lead the charge in shaping, growing, and protecting the Mati brand across digital platforms, field events, global conferences, and partnerships. This is a cross-functional, high-visibility role ideal for someone who can move fluidly between strategy and execution, and who thrives at the intersection of storytelling, design, operations, and hustle.

You’ll be the custodian of our visual identity and voice and the architect behind how the world sees, hears, and engages with Mati.


Key Responsibilities

Brand & Messaging

  • Own and evolve the Mati Carbon brand, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints (website, decks, social, merchandise, events).

  • Refine brand messaging for different stakeholders climate buyers, funders, field partners, and media.

  • Manage third-party agencies (designers, video teams, PR firms) to deliver on brand assets and campaigns.

Digital & Content

  • Oversee Mati’s website, blog, social media, and newsletters, keeping content fresh, high-quality, and on-message.

  • Create or manage production of assets including case studies, impact videos, team spotlights, reports, and science explainers.

  • Track analytics across platforms and adapt content based on engagement insights.

Events & Conferences

  • Plan and manage Mati’s presence at climate, science, and policy conferences (Skoll, COP, WEF, etc.).

  • Organize internal and external launch events, panels, and stakeholder roundtables, including content, branding, logistics, and post-event communications.

  • Coordinate speaker submissions, press kits, and visual presence at each event.

Community & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with climate media, CDR coalitions, branding partners, and ecosystem amplifiers.

  • Help build a community of supporters and champions across the climate, science, and philanthropic worlds.


Internal Communications & Systems

  • Support internal marketing needs (collateral, swag, team updates) and coordinate cross-team storytelling efforts.

  • Maintain a marketing calendar and manage budgets for campaigns, events, and outsourced vendors.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 5-8 years experience in marketing, brand, communications, or event strategy, ideally in a climate, tech, or impact-led organization.

  • Strong storytelling instincts and a proven eye for detail, design, and tone.

  • Excellent project manager able to juggle multiple brand deliverables and vendors while meeting tight deadlines.

  • Experienced with tools like Figma, Canva, Wordpress, Mailchimp, and basic design/video workflows.

  • Confident representing the brand in front of external partners and vendors.

  • Bonus: Familiarity with carbon markets, scientific communication, or farmer-focused storytelling.
