About the job Finance Manager - Capital Strategy & Forecasting
Role Overview:
We are seeking a high-performing Financial Analyst with strong experience in debt financing, financial modelling, and forecasting to join our growing finance team. You will play a critical role in managing Mati's banking relationships, servicing international debt facilities, and supporting financial planning as we scale to institutional capital and revenue.
This role is ideal for a Chartered Accountant or IIM alum with a few years of relevant experience in corporate finance, private credit, or investment banking, looking to apply their skills in a mission-driven, global climate venture.
Key Responsibilities
Debt Servicing & Treasury
Manage and track disbursements, repayments, and covenant compliance for existing and new debt facilities (including from international lenders).
Liaise with banking partners, DFIs, and impact lenders to ensure accurate and timely servicing.
Maintain debt schedules, repayment trackers, and provide cash flow projections for upcoming tranches.
Financial Modelling & Analysis
Build and update financial models for Matis India and global operations including cash flow forecasts, debt scenarios, and capex planning.
Analyze unit economics for Matis operations (per-ton CDR cost, margins, field overheads).
Provide sensitivity analyses and reporting to inform strategic decisions.
International Accounting & Reporting
Support consolidation of accounts across jurisdictions (India, US, Africa) in line with IFRS/GAAP.
Work with local accountants and external auditors to ensure statutory compliance and timely closings.
Assist in preparing investor and lender financial reports, including impact-linked performance data.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Collaborate with internal teams (ops, tech, field) to gather inputs and produce accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts.
Prepare budget vs. actual reports, variance analyses, and operational performance dashboards.
Provide analytical support for fundraising, grant reporting, and board-level presentations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
2-5 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, or structured finance.
Chartered Accountant (CA) strongly preferred; Top-tier MBA or equivalent finance degree highly valued.
Proven experience managing or supporting banking relationships and debt servicing.
Strong Excel and financial modeling skills, including DCF, scenario modeling, and multi-entity forecasting.
Familiarity with international accounting standards (IFRS/US GAAP) and multi-currency reporting.
Entrepreneurial mindset able to work across time zones, meet deadlines, and handle ambiguity with composure.
Bonus: experience in climate finance, carbon markets, or impact ventures.
