We are seeking a proven Human Resources leader to oversee HR operations across two community hospitals in the Myrtle Beach area, with a third facility scheduled to open in 2027. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for an experienced HR professional with a strong healthcare background and a stable career track record.

Position Overview

The Director of Human Resources will provide leadership and direction for all facets of HR, including employee relations, compliance, recruitment and retention, benefits administration support, workers compensation, and staff education programs. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to hospital leadership while ensuring equitable treatment of employees and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

This role has direct oversight of an HR Coordinator and will be responsible for approximately 200 employees across two hospitals.

Regular travel between both hospitals (about 4550 minutes apart) is required. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all HR functions, ensuring policies, programs, and practices align with organizational goals and compliance standards.
  • Provide guidance and serve as a resource to department managers and employees.
  • Oversee recruitment, retention, and workforce planning to ensure proper staffing levels.
  • Manage employee relations, investigations, leave administration, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate staff education initiatives and oversee workers compensation programs.
  • Partner with leadership to foster a supportive and inclusive culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher required.
  • Minimum 3+ years in HR leadership (HR Manager or above) with direct reports.
  • Must have recent healthcare HR experience.
  • Broad generalist HR background (not limited to one function such as benefits or recruitment).
  • Stable work history; not seeking candidates who move organizations every 12 years.
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
