General Accounting Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise and review the work of the AR and AP Officers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain the companys general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and categorized.
- Prepare monthly financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
- Reconcile the general ledger and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls.
- Ensure the company complies with local tax regulations and accounting standards.
- Work with management to prepare the companys budget and monitor financial performance against it.
- Provide forecasts and financial analyses to guide decision-making.
- Lead efforts to prepare for audits and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
- Assist in tax preparation and filings, working closely with tax professionals ifnecessary.
General Accounting Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA license is not required, but a solid academic background in accounting principles is essential.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in general accounting, preferably in the construction industry or project-based environments.
- Experience in managing general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing reports for external stakeholders, such as auditors, banks, and government agencies.
- Leadership skills to supervise AP and AR teams effectively.
- Experience in preparing financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar platforms).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with payroll processing and tax management.
