Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit a Head of Client Accounting on behalf of our client, a well-established organisation operating within the corporate services sector. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the client accounting function, ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and outstanding client service across a diverse portfolio. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide effective leadership and guidance to a team of Accounting Managers, Senior Accountants, and Accounting Officers.
- Conduct regular performance appraisals, coaching sessions, and development plans to support employee growth.
- Allocate resources efficiently to ensure workloads are balanced and deadlines are consistently achieved.
- Promote a collaborative, professional, and results-oriented working culture.
Financial Reporting & Client Portfolio Management
- Oversee the preparation, review, and delivery of financial statements and management reports for a varied client portfolio.
- Ensure accounting records and reporting obligations are completed accurately and within agreed timeframes.
- Act as the primary liaison with auditors and coordinate audit engagements from planning through completion.
- Supervise payroll administration, VAT compliance, and other statutory reporting requirements where applicable.
Compliance & Operational Excellence
- Ensure full compliance with IFRS, GAPSME, GAAP, taxation legislation, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Establish, maintain, and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency across the department.
- Monitor regulatory developments and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance standards.
Client Relations & Business Support
- Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, delivering professional accounting and financial advice.
- Develop strong client relationships and ensure service delivery exceeds expectations.
- Collaborate with internal departments including Tax, Corporate Services, and Advisory teams to provide integrated client solutions.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to expand services and strengthen existing client partnerships.
Innovation & Industry Development
- Stay informed on changes in accounting standards, tax legislation, and industry developments.
- Support the implementation of technology-driven solutions and automation initiatives.
- Evaluate systems and processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and reporting accuracy.
- Maintain professional qualifications and fulfil ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- ACCA qualification, Accounting degree, or equivalent recognised professional qualification.
- Significant experience in a senior accounting position, preferably within a Corporate Services Provider or professional services environment.
- Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams while managing complex client portfolios.
Skills & Competencies
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS, GAPSME, GAAP, tax compliance, and statutory reporting obligations.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong systems aptitude and an interest in process improvement and digital transformation.
