Mechanical & Estimation & Design Manager

Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit a Head of Mechanical Design & Estimations to join our client's team.

The selected candidate will lead the Mechanical Design & Estimations Department, ensuring that all design, estimation, tendering, technical review, equipment selection, and project handover activities are delivered accurately and on time. This is a senior role requiring strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, commercial awareness, and experience within the building services, MEP, or construction sector.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and develop the Mechanical Design & Estimations Department, ensuring clear workload planning, quality control, and timely delivery of all departmental outputs.
• Oversee mechanical design activities, including HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, drainage, fire-fighting, plant rooms, and other building services systems.
• Review and validate estimates, BOQs, material take-offs, equipment schedules, tender pricing, technical submissions, and design documentation.
• Support procurement, supplier coordination, project handovers, value engineering, tender reviews, and technical risk assessments.
• Act as a senior technical point of contact for internal teams, clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors when required.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Warrant to practise as an Engineer.
• Strong experience in mechanical building services design, estimation, tendering, and technical coordination.
• Solid knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire-fighting, plant rooms, equipment selection, and MEP systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, commercial awareness, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
