The Role – Banking Officer

As part of the Commercial Banking & Operations Department, and reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role is a key pillar of our customer-facing operations. Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end factoring operations, including the processing and administration of invoice financing, payment allocations, utilisation monitoring, and funding exception analysis.
- Act as a primary operational contact for factoring clients, handling daily queries, resolving invoice eligibility issues, and supporting customers with funding constraints in a professional and timely manner.
- Oversee debtor risk and insurance processes, including monitoring insurance limits, liaising with insurers, managing claims, and executing effective dunning and follow-up procedures.
- Ensure strong governance, compliance, and documentation standards, maintaining accurate records, adhering to internal policies, CDD requirements, and contributing to factoring initiatives and projects.
Skills & Capabilities Required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in customer support, client services, credit operations, or a similar role within financial services.
- ‘A’ Level education or equivalent, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication, customer-handling, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure.
- High standards of confidentiality and professionalism, fluency in English (Maltese considered an asset), and a strong service-oriented mindset.
