Our client, one of the leading corporate service providers in Malta, is looking to recruit a Clerk, within their tax department.

The successful candidate chosen will form part of a dynamic team that handles a predominantly international clientele operating across a wide range of industries as well as the firms private clients. The role is therefore ideal for someone who wishes to broaden their experience and take on a challenge.

General Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for scanning, saving, filing and forwarding specific documents to the team and respective clients.
  • Verifying the accuracy of figures in certain documents such as tax statements and tax receipts against internal records and coordinating with clients when necessary to ensure timely tax payments within specified deadlines.
  • Updating internal lists and coordinating with the accountants and clients to provide the necessary information for upcoming VAT returns and VAT recap statements.
  • Assisting with client onboarding, including collecting and preparing documentation such as of engagement letters, authorisation forms to act as Tax Representatives, and shareholder registration forms.
  • Coordinating with the MTCA regarding any required changes or certificates.
  • Submitting NIL VAT/Tax returns and assisting with Intrastats submissions through the MTCA portal.
  • Other administrative tasks may be required from time to time

Requirements of the ideal Candidate:

  • Previous work experience in accounting clerical role is considered a strong asset
  • Be organised and meticulous in their work
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent written and spoken English
