Overview
Manpower is seeking to recruit a Technical designer to join our client's team.

The Technical Designer will specialize in fire doors, fire-stopping, and passive fire protection systems. The role involves designing cost-effective, compliant solutions that meet client needs while coordinating with various departments to ensure seamless project execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fire Compartmentation Design:

  • Develop detailed designs for fire compartmentation systems, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and standards.
  • Design and specify fire doors, fire stopping, and other passive fire protection systems to align with project scope and client requirements.

Project Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the project management and commercial teams to ensure designs are integrated smoothly into overall project plans.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess installation quality and functionality of fire protection systems.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Monitor project progress to identify and resolve any design issues, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry regulations and company standards, including ISO and LPCB requirements.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including design revisions, calculations, and client communications.
  • Provide regular progress reports to management and stakeholders.

Team Development and Training:

  • Mentor junior team members in fire protection design principles and best practices.
  • Lead internal training sessions on new fire protection technologies and standards.

ANY OF THE FOLLOWING WILL BE CONSIDERED AN ASSET:

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in designing fire doors and passive fire protection systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant design software, with a strong aptitude for learning and adapting to new digital tools and technologies.
  • Tech-savvy mindset, demonstrating comfort with modern software and digital platforms to streamline design and project processes.
  • Thorough understanding of industry standards and fire safety regulations.
