Claims Handler (Health Claims)

Duties and responsibilities:

Main Tasks :

1. Processing of medical claims verifying, approving and issuing payments

2. Technical analysis of a claim and determination of liability

3. Negotiate claim settlements with clients

4. Support and servicing of clients, brokers and intermediaries

5. Liaising with the medical profession, clinics, private hospitals and the like

6. Delivery of a high quality service to clients and intermediaries

Education, Qualification & Certification:

1. Minimum of A level of education

2. Preference will be given to candidates in hold of CII certification and/or University Degree and/or or have a medical career background

Technical Knowledge & Skills

1. Technical expertise obtained by experience in health insurance, or have a medical career background of a minimum of 3 years.

2. Written, spoken and good communication skills in Maltese and English

3. Conversant with Microsoft Office

4. Negotiation, communication and time management skills

5. Ready to work under pressure with minimum supervision

6. Energetic, positive and outgoing

Language:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Maltese and English

Previous Professional Experience:

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in

1. health insurance claims OR

2. health insurance underwriting OR

3. a medical career background of a minimum of 3 years.
