Truck Mechanic

On behalf of our client, Manpower Malta is seeking a Truck Mechanic to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a fleet of heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Your main duties will include diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, conducting routine inspections, replacing or repairing faulty parts, and ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy and comply with safety regulations.

You will work with a variety of systems, including diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electronic diagnostic systems. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of truck components and systems, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and manual checks

• Repair or replace damaged or worn parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and other critical systems

• Maintain detailed service records and ensure documentation is up to date

• Comply with safety procedures and ensure all repairs meet industry standards

• Collaborate with other mechanics and fleet managers to ensure timely repairs

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a truck or heavy vehicle mechanic

• Knowledge of diesel engines, diagnostic systems, and commercial vehicle components

• Ability to read technical manuals and interpret diagnostic results

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work

• Relevant technical certification or diploma in mechanical engineering or related field
