Manpower is seeking to recruit a Cold Store & Distribution Manager to join our client team.

Job Purpose: The Cold Store & Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end process for finished goods, from production forecasting to ensuring efficient warehousing, picking, distribution, and customer satisfaction. This role includes managing cold storage logistics, order fulfilment, and after-sales support to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and meet customer demand efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inventory and Forecasting

    • Forecast production needs based on sales data, historical trends, and demand.
    • Collaborate with production and sales teams to align inventory and anticipate demand changes.
    • Optimize picking and handling for timely order fulfilment and maintain product integrity.
  2. Distribution Management

    • Coordinate distribution from warehouse to point of sale for timely order fulfilment.
    • Oversee transportation scheduling and routing for cost-effective delivery.
    • Ensure cold storage logistics maintain product quality during storage and transit.
  3. Warehouse and Inventory Control

    • Manage cold warehouse operations with compliance in temperature and inventory management.
    • Monitor stock, perform regular counts, and coordinate timely replenishments.
    • Maintain accurate stock levels in the finished goods warehouse.
  4. Sales Order Processing

    • Oversee the order cycle from placement through distribution, minimizing delays.
    • Coordinate with quality, sales, and customer service teams to manage order priorities.
  5. After-Sales Service and Complaint Resolution

    • Manage after-sales service, promptly handling complaints to maintain satisfaction.
    • Track complaints, analyse trends, and implement actions to improve service quality.
  6. Performance Monitoring and Reporting

    • Develop metrics for distribution, warehousing, and customer service.
    • Generate reports on stock, fulfilment, costs, and customer satisfaction.
  7. Process Improvement

    • Identify and implement supply chain improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize the entire supply chain.
  8. Team Management and Coaching

    • Manage and coach sales and distribution teams to meet objectives.
    • Support Customer Care and Front Office personnel to ensure effective service.
  9. Process Improvement and Compliance

    • Streamline supply chain processes to increase efficiency.
    • Develop and maintain procedures for compliance with regulations and policies.
  10. Customer and Distributor Relationship Management

    • Build relationships with customers and negotiate with distributors.
    • Provide effective after-sales support and control product returns.
  11. Financial and Budget Management

    • Implement effective invoicing and cash collection.
    • Create and adhere to budgets within established financial constraints.
  12. Cross Departmental Coordination

    • Coordinate with production, finance, and other departments to align activities.
  13. Additional Responsibilities

    • Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned, supporting areas within remit.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • 5+ years in distribution, logistics, and supply chain, preferably in FMCG or dairy.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, cold storage logistics, and planning.
  • Proficiency in ERP or supply chain management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience creating SOPs and managing operations efficiently.
  • Good communication skills in English; knowledge of Maltese is a plus.
  • Preference for candidates with a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related fields.

  • Salary: Depending on experience
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 to 17:00 (with flexibility)
