Quality Engineer

Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join our client's team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that ship repair, maintenance, refit, fabrication, and production activities meet the required quality standards. The role involves working closely with project, production, technical, and health and safety teams to monitor project execution and maintain compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and approved procedures.

The Quality Engineer will conduct inspections, review technical records, manage non-conformities, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The position also requires regular communication with clients, inspectors, surveyors, suppliers, subcontractors, and classification society representatives.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections and quality-control activities across ship repair, fabrication, mechanical, piping, electrical, and coating operations.
• Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System, customer specifications, approved procedures, regulations, and industry standards.
• Identify and manage non-conformities, including root-cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Review technical drawings, inspection and test plans, procedures, certifications, material records, and project documentation.
• Coordinate audits, prepare quality reports, monitor performance indicators, and liaise with clients, inspectors, surveyors, and project teams.

Key Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical, Naval, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Previous experience in quality assurance or quality control within a technical, industrial, marine, or engineering environment.
• Knowledge of ship repair, fabrication, mechanical, piping, electrical, or coating processes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, inspection documents, and classification society requirements.
• Strong analytical, organisational, communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
