About the job Motor Claims Manager
Manpower is seeking to recruit a Claims Manager who will oversee the handling of complex motor claims, including bodily injury, liability disputes, and catastrophic losses, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and cost control. Acting as a key decision-maker, you'll provide expert guidance to the team, represent the company in court, and work closely with legal, finance, underwriting, and digital teams.
Responsibilities

Lead and review high-value and complex motor claims, including BI and liability cases

Apply BI jurisprudence and ensure accurate reserves, recoveries, and leakage control

Provide expert technical guidance to claims handlers and internal stakeholders

Manage litigation strategy and liaise with external lawyers; represent the company in court

Oversee claims processes, systems, payment accuracy, and operational controls

Drive SLA compliance and manage relationships with surveyors, repairers, and suppliers

Negotiate costs and optimise vendor performance without compromising quality

Lead, coach, and develop the Motor Claims team, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Represent the company within industry bodies and external forums
Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience in senior motor claims roles, including people management
Degree in Insurance, Finance, Risk Management, Business, or related field (MQF Level 6)

Professional insurance qualification (e.g. Cert CII)

Strong expertise in motor liability, BI assessment, vehicle repairs, VAT, and insurance regulation

Full fluency in Maltese and English

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

Commercial mindset with proven experience in cost control and process improvement
