Trainee Accountant

Our client, a well-established organisation, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to further develop their career while gaining exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, audits, management accounts, reconciliations, and statutory compliance within a structured business environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with management accounts and financial reporting
• Prepare KPI and financial analysis reports
• Support budgeting and financial planning activities
• Assist with annual financial statements and audit preparation
• Prepare reconciliations and maintain accounting records
• Support VAT, tax, and statutory reporting requirements
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Process payments and maintain fixed asset records
• Ensure accuracy and compliance across financial transactions and reporting

Requirements

• ACCA Part 1 completed
• Minimum 2 years' accounting or finance experience
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications
• Experience using accounting software
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Fluent English communication skills
• Maltese language skills will be considered an asset
