The Role – Credit Manager

As a Credit Manager, you will play a pivotal role within our Credit Department, working closely with the Head of Commercial Banking and Operations to safeguard portfolio quality while enabling sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Credit team, including the management and guidance of Credit Senior Officers to ensure consistent standards and best practices.
  • Oversee the Bank's credit portfolio and loan administration, conducting robust credit assessments, reviews, and recommendations in line with lending policies and risk appetite.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, delivering a professional, responsive service while supporting commercial priorities and credit solutions.
  • Strengthen governance and risk management, ensuring accurate documentation, up-to-date credit procedures, effective risk reporting, and full integration of AML/CFT requirements.

Skills & Capabilities Required

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in credit, banking, or a related financial services environment.
  • A finance or banking qualification with strong analytical and financial assessment skills.
  • Excellent organisational, time-management, and communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior management.
  • Fluency in Maltese and English, advanced Excel proficiency, strong report-writing ability, and solid overall IT aptitude.
