Mechanical Technical Lead

Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit a Mechanical Technical Lead to join our client's team.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and hands-on support to the mechanical services and maintenance team, overseeing maintenance, installation, testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance activities. The role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership capability, and the ability to coordinate resources, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams while maintaining high quality, safety, and operational standards.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee mechanical maintenance, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Act as the main technical reference for the mechanical team, supporting complex installations, fault diagnosis, and operational issues.
• Coordinate manpower, resources, tools, suppliers, subcontractors, and technical documentation to ensure efficient project and maintenance delivery.
• Support quotations, procurement activities, cost analysis, preventive maintenance planning, and client coordination.
• Ensure mechanical works comply with applicable quality, Health & Safety, environmental, and company standards, including RAMS and relevant ISO requirements.

Key Requirements:

• Technical qualification, diploma, or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, testing, and commissioning, with senior technical or team leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, pipework, ventilation, rotating equipment, and associated mechanical plant.
• Experience with preventive maintenance planning, fault diagnosis, equipment certification, and statutory inspections.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and changing priorities.
