About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Java Full Stack Developer to join the Securitized Products Infrastructure team. This is an individual contributor (IC) role — not a management or analyst position. You will be expected to write code, troubleshoot complex systems, and contribute directly to both technical execution and architectural strategy in a fast-paced, highly regulated financial environment.
The team is undertaking critical infrastructure work including the PSI DB singles instance implementation, vulnerability remediation, UAT and Disaster Recovery setup, and the ARDA implementation involving alias/Triage decommissioning, application migration and merger.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services and full-stack applications supporting securitized products infrastructure
- Lead and contribute to the PSI DB single-instance implementation, including vulnerability remediation and UAT with Disaster Recovery setup
- Support the ARDA implementation: alias/Triage decommission plan, and the migration and merger of 2 applications
- Assess and strategize the securitized products infrastructure from an architectural and technology standpoint
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries; maintain and improve database performance
- Participate in CI/CD pipeline configuration and cloud infrastructure operations (AWS)
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement durable solutions
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Navigate compliance, audit, and regulatory processes inherent to a Tier 1 financial institution
Required Skills & Experience
Development
- 5–10 years of overall software development experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on Java development
- Experience wirh Angular or React.
- Strong backend proficiency; frontend-only profiles will not be considered
- Spring Framework experience required
SQL
- 3–5 years of SQL experience with solid command of advanced operations
- Demonstrated knowledge of: CTEs, query execution plans, performance troubleshooting, index optimization
Infrastructure & DevOps
- CI/CD pipeline experience (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, UrbanCode)
- AWS services familiarity: S3, SQS, SSM, KMS
Financial / Regulated Environment
- Prior experience in a financial institution or equivalently regulated, high-pressure environment
- Comfort navigating compliance processes, audit requirements, and operational red tape without compromising delivery quality
Communication
- Ability to translate complex technical topics into plain language for non-technical audiences
- Collaborative, approachable, and easy to work with across cross-functional teams
Nice to Have
- Prior experience at Santander or familiarity with its systems/processes
- Experience with securitized products or fixed income infrastructure
- Architectural design and IT strategy exposure
