Role Overview: 

Customers are at the center of Manatal and so are you as our Data Migration Engineer. You are the bridge between our Customer Success (CS) and Product/Engineering team to enhance the customer experience throughout their whole Manatal journey. For this, you will partner with our CS team and clients in over 130 countries to ensure seamless data migration and integration to Manatal.

Responsibilities

Data Migration Implementation

  • Lead and implement end-to-end data migrations to move large datasets from other sources to Manatal.
  • Design, implement, and migrate data efficiently using SQL, Python, and ETL tools within the agreed budget and timeline.
  • Map standard and non-standard data structures to Manatal data structures and ensure successful data transfer and data integrity.
  • Identify and troubleshoot data migration issues, including inconsistencies, formatting errors, and integrity violations.
  • Generate and maintain dashboards and reports for different types of audiences informing them of the migration status and updates.

Data Migration Management with Clients

  • Interface with customers, understand their data requirements and clearly communicate the migration roadmap.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Support, and Engineering teams and manage data quality, and resolve issues that arise during the migration process.
  • Conduct post-migration data validation sessions with customers and ensure they aligned with the implemented solution

Data Pipeline Management

  • Collaborate with engineering, and support teams to improve migration tooling and automation.
  • Generate use cases, define data migration solutions, and develop scalable pipelines to automate and streamline recurring migration types.
  • Gather insights on the migration handled and share them with Product Managers to enhance the self-service migration solutions.

Requirements

Must have

  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) with strong communication skills to interact with customers and internal teams.
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data migration, data analytics, or a similar technical role, with hands-on experience in large-scale data migrations, transformations, and debugging migration issues.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation, automation, and migration, along with experience working with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server) for querying, transforming, and analyzing large datasets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex data migration challenges, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Hands-on ETL experience using open-source to enterprise-grade solutions and command lines for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Familiarity with databases and tools such as DB Browser, DBeaver, or similar, for managing, analyzing, and validating data during migrations.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and experience with automation and scripting to optimize migration workflows.
  • Experience with Jira and other Atlassian tools for issue tracking and workflow management.

Nice to have

  • Experience using APIs for extracting data and delivering data to enhance customer workflows. Experience using Postman for debugging API-related issues.
  • Ability to manage client calls, gather requirements, and propose suitable solutions for the client's migration requirements and other onboarding challenges.
  • Experience working with Intercom and Hubspot or other similar CRMs for client communication.
