Assistant Accountant
About the job Assistant Accountant
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily accounting operations, including data entry and reconciliations
- Monitoring inbox and answering queries as required
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Prepare invoices, process payments, and manage expense claims
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records
- Support payroll & clinician pay processing
- Prepare basic financial reports and schedules as requested
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role is preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, or similar)
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
