About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Planning & Analysis Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in both accounting operations and strategic financial analysis. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing insights that drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP) and internal controls.
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors as needed.
- Other ad-hoc accounting tasks as required to satisfy internal and external stakeholder requirements.
Financial Analysis:
- Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Partner with business units to analyse financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare dashboards and presentations for executive reporting.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Preparation and lodgement of BAS returns.
- Collaboration with tax agents for preparation of income tax returns and transfer pricing lodgements.
- Preparation of FBT returns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and/or financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and FP&A processes.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
