Job Summary:

A Junior Bookkeeper is responsible for assisting in maintaining financial records, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and supporting senior accounting staff in daily bookkeeping operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter daily financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments into accounting software.
  • Ensure that all transactions are accurately categorized.
  • Assist in reconciling bank statements with company financial records.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies.
  • Process invoices and payments to vendors.
  • Follow up on outstanding invoices and ensure timely collection from clients.
  • Help prepare financial statements, profit & loss reports, and balance sheets.
  • Assist in monthly and yearly closing procedures.
  • Track and categorize business expenses.
  • Prepare expense reports and ensure receipts are properly filed.
  • Assist in preparing tax documents and ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audits.
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
  • Support digitization of records and ensure backups are up to date.
  • Provide assistance to senior accountants and finance managers.
  • Respond to financial inquiries from internal departments.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelors degree preferred).
  • 0-2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Familiarity with accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information.
  • Basic understanding of tax regulations is prefer.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure is prefer.
