Salary: Salary Range $18-20/hr
Position Description:
The Behavioral Health Technician directly supervises and stabilizes substance abuse clients and reports to the Director of Operations.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
· Assist with client services, including intake and discharge processes, group facilitation, and behavioral intervention like de-escalation of clients when necessary.
· Assist clinical team with Against Medical Advice (AMA) blocking
· Ensure program schedules and clinical/medical directives are being followed at all times, which can include assisting in medication pass, creating doctors appointments and other assessments.
· Assisting RN with tasks as needed and within scope of practice
· Implement therapeutic activities and facilitate development of independent living skills.
· Oversee the cleanliness of the units, including room cleaning upon discharge of client and ensure the proper use of equipment and supplies
· Screen clients' belongings and/or persons upon admission and routinely as need, confiscate prohibited items, and log client valuables that are being held by the facility into the Kipu file for tracking purposes.
· Observes and reports clients behaviors to supervisor and/or clinical team in a timely manner, documents clients whereabouts during scheduled rounds.
· Enter information at the end of each shift in the shift report log on the computer.
· Maintain front office area by ensuring it is stocked with necessary supplies, kept clean and orderly at all times, and relay any maintenance related issues to supervisor.
· Maintaining communication with housekeeping to ensure discharged patient rooms are prepped, cleaned, and disinfected, and assist with moving clients to new rooms.
· Participate in daily room checks and searches when appropriate
· Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the professional Code of Conduct and HIPPA Regulations in compliance with 42CFR, Part 2
· Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
· Maintain communication with all Medical, Clinical, and Operations departments to ensure everyone is working seamlessly as a team
· Other tasks assigned by management
· Comply with local, state, and federal confidentiality laws and regulations
· Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences
· Abide by Company code of ethics and moral values
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Must have at least one (1) year sober if in recovery
· High school diploma or GED required
· Must have experience working in substance abuse industry.
