Title of position:  Peer Supervisor

Reports to: Director of Recovery Community Development Division

Salary: $55,000 - $60,000

Hours per day or week: 35 hours per week

Description of duties and responsibilities

Supports the oversight and management of all peer support programs in the Recovery Community Development Division. The PSS ensures each programs policies and procedures are adhered to and that proper documentation is up to date. Participates in division strategic planning meetings with Division Director, CEO and other staff as assigned.

  • Assist with oversight of monthly, quarterly, and biannual programmatic reports related to federal, state, and county grants.
  • Provide regular reports to Division Director on grant deliverables and levels of services (at minimum monthly or as requested).
  • Assist with the coordination of recovery support programs, workshops and other special events.
  • Provide educational programs for organization upon request.
  • Assist with the scheduling and coordination of necessary meetings with all  recovery support staff.
  • Work with various community agencies and groups to plan and implement recovery support activities.
  • Assist with the hiring, training, and supervising of recovery support staff.
  • Provides direct task supervision to peer recovery specialists in collaboration with a clinical supervisor
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of internship/volunteer programs.
  • Ensure a proper orientation for all staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Answers phone appropriately; takes messages and makes appropriate referral when necessary.
  • Professionally represent the organization in its community activities and maintain a positive attitude toward the promotion and development of programs sponsored by the agency.

Qualifications for position:

Bachelors level in related field with at least 3 years experience in program management of substance misuse prevention and/or treatment initiatives. Experience with writing and presentation skills recommended. Must currently hold a NJ certified peer recovery specialist (CPRS) credential OR eligible to obtain that credential within six months of hire (training will be provided).

Skills, knowledge, personal qualities required: Must possess the skills, knowledge, and personal qualities required to fulfill the responsibilities listed above. Strong writing and computer skills required. Bi-lingual preferred.

Amount of travel and any other special conditions or requirements: Must possess a valid drivers license and method of transportation. Position requires regionalized travel. All travel mileage will be reimbursed.
