POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Legal & Collection Officer, you will be responsible for managing the collection of outstanding debts while ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations. Your primary focus will be on coordinating debt recovery efforts, negotiating payment arrangements, and initiating legal action when necessary to minimize financial losses and protect the company's interests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess the feasibility of legal action against delinquent accounts and coordinate with external legal counsel, if required, to initiate legal proceedings
  • Prepare and submit legal documents, such as demand letters, PN, court the company in legal proceedings related to debt recovery.
  • Managing the legal portfolio and ensure 85% of the filed cases are resolved
  • Following up with lawyer and provide all the supportive documents
  • Proactively manage the collection of outstanding debts owed to the company from customers.
  • Contact Clients via phone, email, or written correspondence to negotiate payment plans, resolve disputes, and secure timely payments
  • Monitor payment schedules, follow up on overdue accounts, and escalate unresolved issues to higher management as necessary
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements with debtors based on their financial circumstances and the company's objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all debt collection activities, including communication with clients, payment agreements, and legal actions taken
  • Prepare and submit reports on the status of legal cases, collection efforts, and recovery rates for management review and analysis
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents
  • Ensure that contracts comply with legal requirements and protect the organization's interests.
  • Manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations as necessary
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to management and staff on a wide range of legal issues.
  • Advise on legal implications of business decisions and proposed actions.
  • Work closely with other departments to address legal and compliance-related risks.

Educational requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Law, accounting, business management, or a similar field.
  • Familiarity with country's debt collection laws
