The risk engineer is part of the Project & Tender Support team which also consists of Document Controllers, Planning and System Engineers, and belongs to the Global Engineering Department of the Offshore Energy division. The primary roles responsibilities and tasks include the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Pro-actively communicate with project and tender teams for providing support in the field of risk management;
  • Review the Project Risk Classification (GT-310);
  • Define the ORM process approach;
  • Facilitate the identification prioritization and addressing of opportunities and risks during all project phases (tender/ project preparation and execution) while challenging stakeholders;
  • Perform semi-quantitative and, if required, quantitative, risk analysis;
  • Keep track of the risk mitigation actions;
  • Ensure lessons learned in risk management are efficiently stored and shared with future tenders/ projects;
  • Be an ambassador of risk management within the organization;
  • Manage and steward knowledge on discipline level (senior);
  • Evaluate and raise employees' risk awareness within the organization (senior);
  • Further, develop ORM process in line with Industry needs and developments (senior);
  • Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues (senior);
  • Analyze with internal stakeholders from finance, legal, assurance, etc. (senior).

Tasks:

  • Review tender/project documents looking for specific requirements in relation to Risk Management;
  • Draft the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) in consultation with planning engineers;
  • Together with the tender/ project manager review the Project Risk Classification (GT-310);
  • Define the process approach, based on the Project Risk Classification (GT-310), and discuss it with the tender/ project manager;
  • Set up all necessary meetings/ interviews required for the proper implementation of the process, e.g.: inventory meetings;
  • Involve all required personnel in the risk management process;
  • When required (risk classification >C1), prepare, organize, and execute risk quantification sessions and run quantitative risk analysis (Monte Carlo simulations);
  • Precisely answer to risk related management-related questions for tenders/projects;
  • Participate in lessons learned meetings and be in close contact with the lessons learned coordinator;
  • Risk report to different levels of the organization (board of directors, business units, individuals);
  • Provide internal training sessions (mediator and senior);
  • Review ORR from other risk engineers (mediator and senior).
