Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Architect to join our team on a part-time basis. The Network Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's network infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of networking concepts, as well as experience in network design, security, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement network infrastructure to support the company's operations and growth plans
- Develop and maintain network security policies and procedures
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other systems
- Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for network improvements
- Manage network equipment and software, including upgrades and patches
- Create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and policies
- Provide technical support and guidance to other IT team members as needed
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in network architecture and security
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in network architecture and design
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.)
- Experience with network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls
- Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP are a plus
Working Hours:
This is a part-time position, with flexible working hours. The Network Architect will be expected to work approximately 20-25 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours during peak periods.
Location:
This position is based in Decatur, AL, but may require occasional travel to client sites or other company locations.
