Firmware Engineer

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Firmware Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing firmware for our mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop firmware for our mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and develop solutions - Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of firmware to ensure functionality and reliability - Implement firmware updates and improvements as needed - Document firmware design, development, and testing processes - Stay updated on industry developments and incorporate new technologies into firmware designs Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field - Minimum of 3 years of experience in firmware development - Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages - Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers - Knowledge of communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, and UART - Familiarity with version control systems such as Git - Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Location: This position is based in San Diego, CA.
