SAP CLM Functional Consultant – Lease Process Automation

We are seeking an experienced SAP Contract & Lease Management (SAP CLM) Functional Consultant to support the design, implementation, and automation of enterprise lease accounting processes using Agentic AI as front end which would commit the Lease details to SAP. The consultant will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, IT, and Automation teams to streamline lease intake, ASC 842 / IFRS 16 compliance, SAP CLM configuration, and integration of upstream contract management systems with SAP. The consultant would be mainly accountable for designing the BTP integrations, testing and providing support for rest of the Automation project team.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAP CLM (ECC6 or S/4HANA), lease accounting, business process design, and automation opportunities utilizing SAP BTP, APIs/BAPIs, RPA, and AI-driven document processing.

Key Responsibilities

SAP CLM Functional Leadership

• Lead configuration and support of SAP CLM lease accounting processes.
• Configure and maintain:
  • Lease contracts
  • Valuation parameters
  • Lease modifications
  • Renewals and extensions
  • Early terminations
  • Lease remeasurements
• Support lease classification activities in compliance with ASC 842 and IFRS 16.
• Design lease accounting business processes from contract intake through lease creation and lifecycle management.

Lease Process Automation

• Analyze current lease intake and approval processes and identify automation opportunities.
• Define automation requirements for:
  • Lease contract ingestion
  • Lease abstraction
  • Contract classification
  • SAP CLM field mapping
  • Approval workflows
• Create business rules for lease determination and exception handling.
• Support implementation of AI-assisted lease review and extraction solutions.

Business Analysis & Requirements

• Conduct workshops with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and Lease Administrators.
• Gather and document business requirements.
• Prepare:
  • Functional Specifications
  • Process Flow Diagrams
  • User Stories
  • Solution Design Documents
• Translate business requirements into SAP CLM configurations and integration designs.

Integration Support

• Collaborate with SAP Technical Architects and Integration Teams.
• Support integration between SAP CLM and:
  • SAP FI/CO
  • Asset Accounting (AA)
  • Procurement
  • Contract Management solutions (Icertis, Ariba, etc.)
  • SAP BTP
  • AI and Document Intelligence platforms
• Evaluate available APIs, BAPIs, RFCs, IDOCs, and alternative integration approaches.

Testing & Deployment

• Prepare test scenarios and test scripts.
• Lead SIT and UAT activities.
• Support defect analysis and resolution.
• Assist with production deployment and hypercare support.

Reporting & Governance

• Develop lease compliance and operational reports.
• Support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain documentation and change control procedures.

Required Qualifications

Functional Skills

• 7+ years of SAP Functional Consulting experience.
• 3+ years of SAP Contract & Lease Management (CLM) experience.
• Strong understanding of:

• Experience with process automation initiatives.

  • Copilot Studio (preferred)
• Understanding of AI-assisted document extraction and workflow automation.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP CLM Certification.

• Experience in large-scale lease transformation projects.
• Experience with Icertis Contract Management platform.
• Knowledge of automated lease abstraction and contract intelligence solutions.
• Consulting experience in manufacturing, healthcare, or global finance organizations.
