Job Description:
As a Probate and Estate Planning Attorney, you will play a pivotal role in providing legal counsel and support to clients in matters related to estate planning, probate administration, and asset protection. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Consultation:
- Conduct in-depth consultations with clients to understand their estate planning needs and objectives.
- Assess clients' assets, financial situation, and family dynamics to provide tailored legal advice.
2. Probate Administration:
- Manage all aspects of probate cases, including the preparation and filing of necessary legal documents.
- Attend court hearings and ensure compliance with legal requirements throughout the probate process.
3. Estate Planning:
- Draft and review wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents to align with clients' goals.
- Customise estate plans to address unique client circumstances and maximise asset protection.
4. Legal Research:
- Stay current on evolving laws and regulations related to probate, estate planning, and asset protection.
- Provide clients with accurate legal advice based on thorough research and analysis.
5. Asset Valuation:
- Collaborate with appraisers, financial experts, and professionals to accurately assess the value of estate assets.
- Ensure precise valuation for estate planning and probate purposes.
6. Beneficiary Communication:
- Maintain clear and transparent communication with beneficiaries, heirs, and stakeholders.
- Provide updates on the probate process and address any concerns or inquiries.
7. Dispute Resolution:
- Handle disputes and litigation related to wills and estates.
- Strive to achieve favourable outcomes for clients through negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
8. Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain meticulous records of all probate cases, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and deadlines.
- Organise and securely store important legal documents.
9. Client Education:
- Educate clients on the probate process, potential challenges, and strategies to protect their assets and wishes.
- Empower clients to make informed decisions about their estate planning.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Probate and Estate Planning Attorney, with a deep understanding of estate planning laws and regulations for 2-3 years or more
- - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly to clients.
- - Strong research and analytical skills to provide accurate legal counsel.
