Job Title: Mid-Level Contractor/Vendor Data Engineer

Location: Remote

Duration/Start Date: 10/1/2024

Salary Range: $32.50 - $35.75 hourly

Candidates with previous experience working at Microsoft Corporation, either as a full-time employee (FTE) or contractor, are strongly preferred.

Role Summary:

This role will contribute across Xbox and other parts of the company and work with product and services data; Azure data factory ADLS with scope scripts and Kusto.

Job Responsibilities:

Implements complete data architectures, including appropriate data schemas, as well as additional components appropriate to the database design for consuming data from varied data sources.
Designs and implements automated data flows for extraction, transformation and load
Optimizes data aggregations while staying compliant to data privacy policies
Authors robust technical documentation, data schema and real time data telemetry specs
Builds and maintains moderately complex data visualizations
Communicates and coordinates with external and internal teams
May be responsible for developing requirements and drafting high level design documents and selling designs to key stakeholders.

SQL experience data processing experience | 1-2 years of experience
Data modeling | 1-2 years of experience

Requirements/Qualifications:

3-5 years work-related experience required.
Must have experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
Must have experience with building moderately complex data visualizations on real data
Experience with Azure Cloud and any data flow automation is a plus.
Must have experience with physical implementation of moderately complex logical database designs and relational database concepts.
Strong communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills required.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment required. Must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.
3+ years of work-related experience in data engineering, analysis and business intelligence.

Preferred Qualification:
Experience with gaming
Experience handling gaming data
Experience working with Azure data & ETL products.
