Employment Attorney

Employment Attorney (3–5 Years) | Omaha, NE (Hybrid)

We are seeking a high-performing Employment Attorney to join our growing Omaha office. This is not just another role, this is a foundational opportunity to help build and shape a thriving employment practice within a stable, well-respected firm.

What You'll Be Doing

Litigation & Dispute Resolution

  • Represent employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters, including:

    • Wrongful termination
    • Discrimination & harassment claims
    • Retaliation and wage & hour disputes
  • Manage cases from initial pleadings through resolution, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and hearings

Client Counseling & Compliance

  • Advise corporate clients on federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Draft and review:

    • Employee handbooks
    • Workplace policies
    • Employment agreements, separation agreements, and restrictive covenants
  • Provide proactive risk mitigation strategies to minimize litigation exposure

Administrative & Agency Representation

  • Represent clients in proceedings before agencies such as:

    • EEOC
    • Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission
  • Respond to charges, position statements, and investigations

Strategic Advisory & Internal Support

  • Advise leadership and internal stakeholders on complex employment matters
  • Support internal HR-related initiatives and compliance efforts

Practice Building & Growth

  • Play a key role in building and expanding the firm's employment law practice
  • Collaborate directly with partners on business development and client strategy
  • Contribute to thought leadership, client alerts, and industry visibility

What We're Looking For

3–5 years of employment law experience (management-side preferred)
Experience handling both litigation and counseling matters
Strong knowledge of employment laws (Title VII, ADA, FLSA, etc.)
Experience with EEOC or similar agency proceedings
Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a high-performing team
Licensed and in good standing in Nebraska (or ability to waive in promptly)
