Senior Project Manager

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Principals, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing tenant improvement projects from pre-tender to completion, by partnering with our Site Superintendents and Project Team, to plan, direct, and manage all activities related to the successful execution of all assigned projects.

Without restricting the generality of the above-stated basic functions, this position shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not restricted to the following:

Responsibilities

Developing change order estimates, identifying cost breakdowns, clarifications, and job scope details

Monitoring project schedules, budgets, and work progress

Direct and oversee the completion of project(s)

Develop plan of action including schedule, resources, and work plan

Assess risks and establish contingency plans

Directly communicate with project team members, including site superintendents, vendors, designers, subcontractors and consultants

Prepare, distribute, and track project documentation including daily email correspondence, purchase orders, change orders, RFIs, etc.

Review shop drawings for compliance and prepare/submit shop drawings for consultant review

Liaise with Principals/Estimators on preparing tenders and proposals

Understand and maintain project cost records

Open and close project files

Review completed projects with management to improve future outcomes

Attend project sites, chair site/progress meetings and prepare meeting minutes

Liase with AHJ authorities in various municipalities for permits and inspections

Required Skills/Experience:

Proven education in construction management and / or engineering paired with 5+ years of experience as a Commercial Project Manager with an emphasis on commercial tenant improvements. Need to be able to show $5m - $6m in construction projects managed.

Working knowledge of the construction process and related documentation, from the project proposal phase through to project closeout

Thorough understanding of reading construction drawings

Accurate estimating knowledge/skills an asset

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a high-paced atmosphere

Detail oriented, accurate, and highly organized

Effective communicator, written and verbal, with the ability to interpret needs and express ideas clearly

Self-motivated and self-directed

Ensuring projects are in compliant with safety plans and regulations

Excellent computer skills (MS Office Excel, Word, Outlook, Project) with the ability to learn new programs when required

Salary range is $125,000 - $150,000 plus benefits.
